Downloading XCOSM version 2.5

NOTE:  XCOSM version 2.5 is now the version that will be downloaded. The manual is not up to date so please read the README.FIRST file that comes in the new xcosm tar file  and use the on-line help provided by the software.

Compiling requirements:

  1. In the makefile leave the DIR_TYPE as direct
  2. In the makefile add the following path to the XLIBS: -L/usr/X11R6/lib
  3. In file directory.c comment out  lines #23-25:
          #if !defined(alphasort)
          extern int alphasort(dirstr**,dirstr**);
          #endif
  4. In file PSF/mconf.h select the appropriate parameter for Intel CPUs precision by removing the comments from line        #define IBMPC 1       and comment out the line   #define MIEEE  1

To download XCOSM, PLEASE fill out the form below then press the Download xcosm button. The information you provide will allow us to keep you posted on bug-fixes and current version updates. PLEASE NOTE THAT on some systems if you do not provide a filename for the downloaded tar file  the default name will be xcosm_post.cgi istead of xcosm_post.tar.

To unpack the file downloaded to you type:

Where <tarfile> is the filename you call the XCOSM package after downloading it. This will unpack the XCOSM distribution into a new sub-directory called `XCOSM'. Note that this file is NOT compressed, but just tarred.

Once the file is finished unpacking, `cd' into the XCOSM directory and make sure you read the document README.FIRST before attempting to compile the package.
